In our latest article, we present theory and description of a Solar Absorption Cooling System, Solar Adsorption Cooling System, Solar desiccant cooling system and Ejector cooling system. The article is titled “Recent Advances in Solar Thermal Assisted Air Conditioning Systems”. The article was published in the proceedings of the 6th international conference on Engineering & MIS 2020.

This paper presents the advances in solar thermal assisted air conditioning systems in the Solar Energy Research Institute and focuses on enhancing the coefficient of performance (COP) of these systems with respect to cooling applications. Multiple innovative systems are presented in this paper, along with descriptions, and schematic illustrations, theoretical models, and performance analysis.

In our latest work, we proposed a new model to predict the impact of dust on grid-connected PV systems in Sohar, Oman. The article is titled “A novel model and experimental validation of dust impact on grid-connected photovoltaic system performance in Northern Oman”. The article was published in the Journal of Solar Energy (Q1, WoS, SCOPUS, IF = 4. 608).

This paper presents a characterization of dust, and effects in Sohar - Oman, on grid-connected PV systems and by employing a new model and using experiments to validate it along with a techno-economical evaluation of the system.

In our latest work, we reviewed the impacts of dust accumulation on solar – PV - systems and the existing methods of dust cleaning to improve their performance.The review article is titled “A review of dust accumulation and cleaning methods for solar photovoltaic systems”. The article was published in the Journal of Cleaner Production (Q1, WoS, SCOPUS, IF = 7.246).

This review presents a comprehensive review of dust problems and PV cleaning methods, also different type of cleaning methods was discussed and compared technically and economically.

In our latest work, we evaluate the electrical performance of a solar collector which utilized nanofluids and nano-enhanced phase change material in Malaysia. The collector produces hot water and electricity for residential applications.

The article is titled “Evaluation of the electrical performance of a photovoltaic thermal system using nano-enhanced paraffin and nanofluids”. The article was published in Case Studies in Thermal Engineering (Q1, WoS, SCOPUS, IF = 4. 010).

This paper presents the electrical efficiency, voltage and a comparison of the system performance with other systems.

Research update:In our latest work, we investigated the impact of aging on grid-connected photovoltaic systems by evaluating the performance of the system using seven years of measured data!The article is titled “Evaluation of aging and performance of grid-connected photovoltaic system northern Oman: Seven years’ experimental study”. The article was published in the Journal of Solar Energy (Q1, WoS, SCOPUS, IF = 4. 608).

This paper presents the energy production, annual energy yield, specific yield, capacity factor, and other parameters, for the 1.4 kWp GCPV system over the course of seven years.

My latest research article titled “Impact of preheating environment on microstructural and optoelectronic properties of Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films deposited by spin-coating”.The article was published in the international journal of Superlattices and Microstructures (Q2, WoS, SCOPUS, IF = 2.3).

This work presents the effects of the preheating environment on the microstructural, compositional, optical, and electrical properties of spin-coating-deposited CZTS thin films.

My latest research article titled “The effect of dust components and contaminants on the performance of photovoltaic for the four regions in Iraq: a practical study”.The article was published in the International Journal of Renewable Energy and Environmental Sustainability.

The study aimed to investigate the impact of pollution and dust of four different Iraqi regions of different conditions on solar cells’ performance. The areas studied were Baghdad, an agricultural area in Mahmoodia, the Karbala-Najaf desert road, and the city of Fao.

My latest published book chapters (two book-chapters) in the book titled “Renewable Energy and Sustainable Buildings”. The chapters are:

1. The Impact of Dust’s Physical Properties on Photovoltaic Modules Outcomes.
2. Cooling of PV Panels for Performance Enhancement of Grid-Connected Systems.

Both chapters were partially presented as papers in the World Renewable Energy Network’s 28th anniversary congress at the University of Kingston in London

My latest published review paper titled “Novel Designs of Photovoltaic Thermal (PV/T) Systems” which is published in the International Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering (IJRTE).The paper was presented in 5th International Conference on Energy and Environment 2019, which was held in UNITEN university on the 10th and 11th of July 2019. From this paper, you can learn more about photovoltaic thermal collectors and novel designs in the field.

Latest research article titled “Novel criteria for assessing PV/T solar energy production" which is published in Case Studies in Thermal Engineering (WoS, SCOPUS, Q1) with an impact factor of 3.38.

In this work I present four novel methods for PV/T evaluation, namely yield per area/space, yield per weight, yield bias, and cost of yield.

Latest research article titled “Turbulent convective heat transfer of silica oxide nanofluid through corrugated channels: An experimental and numerical study" which is published in International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer (WoS, SCOPUS, Q1) with an impact factor of 4.346.

The work included the use of nanofluids as working fluids in novel corrugated channels for heat transfer purposes. It was a pleasure for me to partake in the research through the preparation of nanofluids & thermophysical property tests.
